Mexico Travel Guide

Undoubtedly, Mexico is one of the most fascinating countries I’ve ever visited. As one of the world’s megadiverse destinations, it offers everything from bustling cities and ancient pyramids to pristine beaches and lush jungles. This Mexico travel blog brings together practical guides, itineraries, and tips to help you explore it all.

Here you’ll find articles on a Mexico City itinerary, hiking Popocatépetl, and discovering the jungles of Chiapas and Yucatán. I’ve traveled from the northern deserts to the southern beaches, road-tripped through Veracruz and Oaxaca, climbed the Cholula Pyramid in Puebla, explored Sumidero Canyon, and even made it to Tulum and Mérida.

All my Mexico blog posts is based on real experiences — honest advice, tested itineraries, and practical travel tips that will help you plan your own unforgettable trip to Mexico.

Travel tips for Mexico

Arrival and tourist infrastructure in Mexico:

You can fly into Mexico City or Cancún, both well-connected gateways to the country. Mexico has superb infrastructure and is much safer than many travelers expect. English is widely spoken, and paying by card is accepted almost everywhere.

Driving and car rental in Mexico:

Mexico is a year-round travel destination, but timing matters. It’s best to avoid the Yucatán in June and July, when large amounts of seaweed (sargassum) can cover the beaches.

Best time to visit Mexico:

What surprised me in Mexico:

Everyone is really nice, and English is widely spoken even outside the main tourist areas. The highways are fast and efficient - but also very expensive.

Top things to do in Mexico:

Hiking in Popocatépetl National Park, visiting Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla, exploring Sumidero Canyon in Chiapas, or Mayan cities such as Chichén Itzá or Uxmal.
